It is facilitated by a clinical supervisor with the aims of developing quality care\, accountability\, learning and personal competence to meet organisational\, professional\, and personal objectives. Promoting the best outcomes for service users\, it is a proactive process that is led by the needs of the supervisee. A supervisor should not be the supervisee’s line manager or appraiser. \nThe focus is on the professional development of the supervisee is based on their needs. Clinical supervision is most used in health services for the support of nurses and is valuable for revalidation.
