DESCRIPTION:🏷️ From £235\n🎧 All clinical staff working with children\, young people and/or their parents/ carers and/or any adult who could potentially contribute to assessing\, planning\, intervening and/ or evaluating the needs of a child or young person and/or parenting capacity.\n📍 Online \n\nCourse outline \nThis one-day certification programme is designed for school nurses and aligned with the Intercollegiate Guidance 2019 (level 3) and Annex C of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). It supports school nurses across state\, independent\, international\, and boarding schools\, including those who serve as Designated or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).  \nDelivered by experienced health and safeguarding professionals\, the course uses real-world clinical case studies and evidence-based content tailored to the school nursing context.  \nBy the end of the programme\, delegates will have a clear understanding of their responsibilities as safeguarding leaders and increased confidence in addressing a wide range of complex safeguarding issues. They will be better equipped to navigate referral processes and collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners. With over two decades’ multidisciplinary experience in legal\, academic\, advisory\, and leadership roles\, she is strongly committed to advancing child rights and welfare. Formerly Deputy Minister in the Maldives\, she led national reforms in child protection policy and legislation. Internationally\, she has worked with UNICEF\, Save the Children\, and Lumos Foundation on child sexual abuse\, exploitation\, and systems reform across South Asia and beyond. This role reflects her background as a pharmacist – she qualified in 1998 – and journalist and drugs educator.  Asha is involved in the whole breadth of delivery\, from students to parents\, school staff and other professionals working with young people\, as well as training and mentoring drugs educators. She also does a lot of work behind the scenes at the Foundation\, including dealing with press enquiries\, writing resources\, and managing the charity’s communication channels. Asha is passionate about the aims of the DSM Foundation\, which is to help young people make safer choices about drugs – everyone should be able to get home safely.

She later moved into clinical site management\, thriving in the fast-paced environment of an acute hospital where she ensured patients were allocated to the appropriate specialists and worked closely with multidisciplinary teams. \nAs her family grew\, Alice transitioned into practice nursing before joining Sherborne Girls as part of the nursing team. She advanced to Health Centre Manager\, and her role has since evolved into that of Health & Wellbeing Lead. In this capacity\, she focuses on promoting both physical and mental health\, empowering students to understand their bodies\, build resilience\, and develop lifelong healthy habits. \nAlice is passionate about supporting young women through their formative years\, helping them grow into confident\, well-rounded individuals. Her role enables her to combine extensive clinical expertise with a holistic approach to student wellbeing.
