The Mental Health and Wellbeing series of workshops has been designed to educate you and provide you with support strategies on subjects of mental health\, resilience\, trauma informed practice\, eating disorders\, self-harm and suicide. These workshops will be interactive providing useful information and resources\, and a safe space to discuss and reflect on current issues and how to deal with them. The aim of this workshop series is to embed best practice in schools to support statutory requirements\, taking a practical and proactive approach to help young people thrive and flourish. \nThis boxset is only purchased as a group of 6 and can’t be booked individually. She is also a senior accredited member of The National Counselling Society and The Association for Coaching. \nAfter graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy\, Lisa went on to work with adults to overcome addiction and mental health issues. Having experienced chronic ill health for many years\, Lisa developed a keen interest in brain health and the brain / mind/ body connection. Lisa was fascinated by how our minds can influence our wellbeing and vice versa. After overcoming her own health issues\, she then specialised in the field of chronic ill health and stress. Lisa went on to certify in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health\, Applied Neuroscience and Coaching and Women’s Health and Neurobiology. \nShe also gained a NLP Practitioner Coaching Diploma and certified as a Life Coaching Practitioner\, Youth Coach\, NLP Master Practitioner\, Hypnotherapy Practitioner\, Mental Health First Aid and completed a BPS approved certificate in clinical supervision. The specific focus of her work addresses the mind-body connection and the impact our language (self-talk) and belief system has on all aspects of health and wellbeing as well as self-esteem and confidence. The principles of Neuroscience underpin the work Lisa does as she believes it is essential to educate people on how the brain works\, how to influence mindset and to understand neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to form and re-organise neural connections). By doing so\, this enables us to build resilience\, develop essential life skills and learn how to manage stress effectively. \nTogether with her business partner\, Veronika Chidemo – a Teacher and School Mental Health Leadership Consultant\, she co-founded HeadStrong Training in Education. Since leaving the police Dave over the last 17 years has delivered hundreds of Drug Awareness Sessions to Schools and Colleges all over the country engaging with all parties (Students/Staff and Parental Sessions) to ensure his key message about raising the awareness of the real risks and dangers associated with many substances young people in particular are likely to come into contact with. He does not preach and delivers his presentations in a ‘non judgemental manner’ in his own ‘unique style’\, ensuring that his audiences engage with him from the very minute he starts to speak. He also has strong links with NAMSS (National Association for Managers of Student Services) and for the BSA (Boarding School Association) delivering bespoke Drug Awareness Training events for their staff (including work overseas with international schools).

Appearing on Lorraine\, Channel 5\, ITV\, STV\, BBC as well as Jeremy Vine\, Radio 1 and other national and international media outlets. \nWorking to raise awareness and education through workshops\, talks and training across the world as far as Dubai and Abu Dhabi Invited by the Prime Minister’s Office and a school in the USA. \nSeconds to Snap is being used in schools\, universities and eating disorder charities up and down the country to show everyone that we are not immune from difficulties with our mental health\, however if left unchecked can lead to mental illness. So\, the importance of maintaining good mental health is Tina’s life passion. The book is also on the script writing roster of ‘Twas Entertainment owned by filmmakers Kevin Lima and Brenda Chapman. \n\n \nSteve Cox – Sudden death in Healthy Young People \nSteve is the Chief Executive of the national charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). As an elite athlete on a university tennis scholarship in the US (1992) Steve was diagnosed with a rare\, potentially life threatening\, cardiac condition during routine cardiac screening\, giving him a unique personal insight into the impact of such a diagnosis.  Unable to continue his sporting career following the diagnosis\, he returned to the UK where he completed a degree in Applied Psychology and Sociology (Surrey University)\, He went on to work with the world’s leading expert in inherited cardiac conditions and publish the first research into quality of life of patients living with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (1997). Steve joined CRY in 2000\, at which time the charity was raising just under £300\,000 and testing the hearts of approximately 1\,000 people each year. In 2007 he was awarded a PhD at University College London (UCL) in the 5* department of Epidemiology and Public Health evaluating illness cognitions of rare cardiac conditions and the psychological impact of cardiac screening. In 2016 he was appointed to his current role as CRY’s Chief Executive. \nCRY has now raised more than 50 million pounds (half of which has been raised in the last 7 years). Steve oversaw a rapid expansion of the CRY cardiac screening programme: in 2019 alone (pre covid) CRY tested more than 32\,000 young people and to date over 250\,000 young people have had their heart tested by CRY. Steve’s particular focus is on facilitating world-leading science through the work of Professor Sanjay Sharma\, Professor Michael Papadakis and their team\, which is transforming our understanding of the causes and prevention of young sudden cardiac death and how best to treat those affected. He has represented CRY on a number of government advisory groups including the National Service Framework Chapter 8 (2005). He is regularly interviewed in the media about CRY and the prevention of Young Sudden Cardiac Death and has been an invited speaker at international medical conferences. \n\nJamie McAnsh – Living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome \nJamie McAnsh woke up paralysed overnight in 2014. After spiralling down a slippery slope he decided that if life had dealt him these cards\, he was going to play poker. He became an adventurer and found disability sport and have since climbed a mountain on his hands amongst many other challenges. He set up See No Bounds to reach out to others that had to diversify and adapt and it became a platform which he utilised for 12 challenges in 2015 where he raised a remarkable £250 000 for charity. Jamie became the countries first Charles Holland award winner in the category ‘Against All Odds’ for his achievement in 2015 and this started a career of inspirational speaking where Jamie’s message is to always ‘Get Back Up’ In 2022 a childhood dream came true when he was the first person with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome to reach Everest Base Camp on crutches. The challenge this year is to complete the Welsh Coastal Path of 870 miles and next year conquer Kilimanjaro. It has not always been a story of awards and adventure; Jamie suffered severe anxiety and depression after in his eyes becoming a burden on society and those around him. Jamie’s story is relatable and inspirational to all ages but always with the same message to always Get Back Up. \n\nSpeaker: Rosie McManus RSCN\, Dip HR (Child)\, BSc (Hons)\, MSc (Law)\, Head of Boarding\, St John’s College School \nTrained at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children Rosie came to school nursing in the independent sector 16 years ago. With a passion for boarding pastoral and health care Rosie has developed an interest in the understanding and development of the health needs of boarding school students. Passionate about the nurse’s role in the delivery of the PSHE curriculum\, Rosie is currently the Head of Boarding at St John’s College School\, she has a Masters in Medical Ethics and Law\, is a NUCO trainer and has a keen interest in the development of the school nurse role. \n\n \nSpeaker: Dale Wilkins\, Senior Director\, BSA and BSA Group \nDale joined the BSA during Summer 2017 with responsibility for safeguarding and standards. In July 2019 he also assumed responsibility for the BSA’s accredited training programme. Dale leads on all safeguarding and inspection matters for the BSA\, including managing the Commitment to Care Charter\, the Annual Safeguarding conference\, and the Safeguarding Forum. He has also developed a process of BSA Accreditation for our overseas members. \nFor 31 years Dale was a boarding practitioner. After boarding positions at Norwich School and Tettenhall College\, Dale became a Housemaster at Old Swinford Hospital in 1992\, and was promoted to Deputy Head in 2007\, and subsequently also DSL. He has also been a multi-agency trainer for the Dudley Safeguarding Children’s Board and has been closely involved in inspection in state and independent boarding since 2002. She has over 25yrs experience working as a nurse and midwife in the NHS. Over the past 15yrs\, she has used her nursing experiencing in the charity sector. \nShe has many areas of responsibility which cover support and information provision. She manages the nurse-led helpline and the Rebuilding Futures Fund providing support to those struggling with the impact of meningitis. She ensures all disease information is accurate and manage our scientific research portfolio. She is also the safeguarding lead for the charity. \nIn her spare time\, she enjoys walking and trips away in her little pop top caravan.
