Appearing on Lorraine\, Channel 5\, ITV\, STV\, BBC as well as Jeremy Vine\, Radio 1 and other national and international media outlets. \nWorking to raise awareness and education through workshops\, talks and training across the world as far as Dubai and Abu Dhabi Invited by the Prime Minister’s Office and a school in the USA. \nSeconds to Snap is being used in schools\, universities and eating disorder charities up and down the country to show everyone that we are not immune from difficulties with our mental health\, however if left unchecked can lead to mental illness. So\, the importance of maintaining good mental health is Tina’s life passion. The book is also on the script writing roster of ‘Twas Entertainment owned by filmmakers Kevin Lima and Brenda Chapman. \n\n \nSteve Cox – Sudden death in Healthy Young People \nSteve is the Chief Executive of the national charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). As an elite athlete on a university tennis scholarship in the US (1992) Steve was diagnosed with a rare\, potentially life threatening\, cardiac condition during routine cardiac screening\, giving him a unique personal insight into the impact of such a diagnosis.  Unable to continue his sporting career following the diagnosis\, he returned to the UK where he completed a degree in Applied Psychology and Sociology (Surrey University)\, He went on to work with the world’s leading expert in inherited cardiac conditions and publish the first research into quality of life of patients living with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (1997). Steve joined CRY in 2000\, at which time the charity was raising just under £300\,000 and testing the hearts of approximately 1\,000 people each year. In 2007 he was awarded a PhD at University College London (UCL) in the 5* department of Epidemiology and Public Health evaluating illness cognitions of rare cardiac conditions and the psychological impact of cardiac screening. In 2016 he was appointed to his current role as CRY’s Chief Executive. \nCRY has now raised more than 50 million pounds (half of which has been raised in the last 7 years). Steve oversaw a rapid expansion of the CRY cardiac screening programme: in 2019 alone (pre covid) CRY tested more than 32\,000 young people and to date over 250\,000 young people have had their heart tested by CRY. Steve’s particular focus is on facilitating world-leading science through the work of Professor Sanjay Sharma\, Professor Michael Papadakis and their team\, which is transforming our understanding of the causes and prevention of young sudden cardiac death and how best to treat those affected. He has represented CRY on a number of government advisory groups including the National Service Framework Chapter 8 (2005). He is regularly interviewed in the media about CRY and the prevention of Young Sudden Cardiac Death and has been an invited speaker at international medical conferences. \n\nJamie McAnsh – Living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome \nJamie McAnsh woke up paralysed overnight in 2014. After spiralling down a slippery slope he decided that if life had dealt him these cards\, he was going to play poker. He became an adventurer and found disability sport and have since climbed a mountain on his hands amongst many other challenges. He set up See No Bounds to reach out to others that had to diversify and adapt and it became a platform which he utilised for 12 challenges in 2015 where he raised a remarkable £250 000 for charity. Jamie became the countries first Charles Holland award winner in the category ‘Against All Odds’ for his achievement in 2015 and this started a career of inspirational speaking where Jamie’s message is to always ‘Get Back Up’ In 2022 a childhood dream came true when he was the first person with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome to reach Everest Base Camp on crutches. The challenge this year is to complete the Welsh Coastal Path of 870 miles and next year conquer Kilimanjaro. It has not always been a story of awards and adventure; Jamie suffered severe anxiety and depression after in his eyes becoming a burden on society and those around him. He has also been a multi-agency trainer for the Dudley Safeguarding Children’s Board and has been closely involved in inspection in state and independent boarding since 2002. This course looks at the process and support available that could be utilised to help during this period. The holder will learn skills to be able to empathise with and manage the ongoing wellbeing of the affected person.  \nThe session will teach delegates how to have sensitive conversations that may well impact on how the affected person deal with their situation or loss. A leader in the provision of children’s mental health and wellbeing education\, former school inspector\, safeguarding consultant\, mental health first aid instructor and mindfulness teacher. 2 x innovation award winner and a Forbes featured Great British Entrepreneur 2021. \nPaula has a wealth of experience in child development and mental health within both the hospital and educational setting. Paula’s passion is to support children with their mental\, emotional\, physical and social development as they journey through life. Paula’s mission is to protect and improve the mental fitness and wellbeing of over 25 million children by 2025. \n\nTracey Boseley\, National Development Lead for the Education Sector at Child Bereavement UK \nTracey’s links with the education sector began early in her career as she developed an outreach programme for schools and universities. This led her to qualify as a teacher and she has taught across the primary phase. She specialised in supporting vulnerable pupils and their families\, particularly young people with autism and sensory processing disorder. In 2018\, Tracey joined Child Bereavement UK; her role includes raising the profile of bereavement across the education sector\, research projects\, supporting education professionals\, developing resources and content for training courses. She has also designed online resources for education professionals in collaboration with London Grid for Learning. \n  \n\nErika Crossley\, Boarding School Counsellor\, Berlin Brandenburg International School  \nErika Crossley holds a Master’s degree in clinical nurse leader from Xavier University in the United States and has worked in paediatric oncology and psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She is also a senior accredited member of The National Counselling Society and The Association for Coaching. \nAfter graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy\, Lisa went on to work with adults to overcome addiction and mental health issues. Having experienced chronic ill health for many years\, Lisa developed a keen interest in brain health and the brain / mind/ body connection. Lisa was fascinated by how our minds can influence our wellbeing and vice versa. After overcoming her own health issues\, she then specialised in the field of chronic ill health and stress. The specific focus of her work addresses the mind-body connection and the impact our language (self-talk) and belief system has on all aspects of health and wellbeing as well as self-esteem and confidence. After completing an English Literature degree at Cambridge University\, she achieved a second degree in Psychology whilst teaching and working in SEN provision. She then completed her doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology at the University of East London\, which explored self-harm in educational contexts.  Jody is experienced in contributing to the assessment and psychological treatment of developmental difficulties\, learning needs and child/adolescent mental health.  She is also a Consultant Psychologist\, providing consultations for foster carers and supervising social workers with the Compass Community as part of their REACH approach. DESCRIPTION:Dates: 7th and 8th March\, 2023\nTimes: 09:00 – 17:00\nVenue: Harrow School \n\nAudience  \nRegistered nurses (32 places maximum) \nCourse outline: \nThis two-day clinical skills course for nurses provides updates on medical assessments and refresh practical skills. The aim is to support nurses with their training and development needs; help them to raise the standards of care provided in schools and meet the needs of CPD as part of their revalidation. She is currently the director of Hieda and director of health and wellbeing for the BSA Group. \n\nDr Jaheed Khan  \nMr Jaheed Khan is a NHS Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital and practices privately at Moorfields Private and Clinica London\, Harley Street\, London. \nHe graduated from the Royal Free Hospital and University College London Medical School in 1997. He completed primary ophthalmic training at St Thomas’ Hospital and was later awarded a medical doctorate (MD) for his scientific research into new treatments for diabetic maculopathy at Kings College London. He completed higher ophthalmic training at Moorfields Eye Hospital\, the Royal Free Hospital and the Western Eye Hospital. He was then selected for advanced sub-specialist fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital where he developed expertise in cataract surgery and management of conditions affecting the retina which include diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration. \nHe has presented internationally and published widely on new medical retina imaging techniques and latest retinal treatments. He has also written three medical retina chapters in the award winning textbook ‘Atlas of Clinical Ophthalmology’ cited as one of the 100 most important ophthalmic books of the 20th century. He has also contributed to the development of the latest treatments for retinal vein occlusion such as intravitreal ozurdex.
