It will discuss the latest statistics\, management and support strategies for these conditions. \nTraining topics will include:  \n\nWhat is asthma? Whilst in PICU\, she had a number of different roles. To do this she learned advanced nursing and basic medical skills in resuscitation\, all medical conditions\, and trauma. \nShe went on to teach these skills to student nurses\, qualified nurses and junior doctors as the Practice educator on intensive care. This role also involved lecturing regularly at South Bank University. She has been a DSL for Safeguarding at an independent boarding school where she was Lead Nurse. She is also an instructor for Qualsafe\, an awarding body approved by the HSE. She is currently the director of Hieda and director of health and wellbeing for the BSA Group. \n\nSarah Baker Head of Health Policy and Developments Anaphylaxis UK \nSarah is a health professional with over 40 years of experience working in the NHS as a Children’s Nurse\, Health Visitor and latterly as an Executive Director in Community Health Trusts. \nAs Head of Health Policy and Developments Sarah works focuses on working with health partners ensuring Anaphylaxis UK provides the most up to date and clinically sound information to the allergic community. \nSarah brings a personal perspective of allergies to Anaphylaxis UK as she has multiple food allergies and carries adrenaline\, which enables her to appreciate the physical\, economic and psychological aspects of serious allergy and anaphylaxis for both children and their families. \n\nCherry Hagger\, Food Allergy Awareness Officer\, Allergy UK \nCherry’s role at Allergy UK pulls together her considerable knowledge and experience across 3 diverse but complementary sectors over the past 30 years. After careers in hospitality and banking\, she trained as a dietitian where she developed an interest in allergy. She has a love of science communication with extensive training experience both as a facilitator and developer for UK and global audiences in academia\, corporate\, public and charity sectors. Her skills and insight into the competing demands in business is being utilised to develop innovative allergy training for public and private sector food businesses & schools. Her role also included insulin pumps starts\, and she held nurse-led clinics\, which aimed to provide extra support and motivation for young people struggling to manage their diabetes. Kirsty was actively involved in educating others to support children and YP with Diabetes\, for example providing training days for nurses and other staff in schools. Kirsty’s Masters’ Dissertation Research Project looked into best ways of educating school staff around Diabetes. Lisa went on to certify in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health\, Applied Neuroscience and Coaching and Women’s Health and Neurobiology. \nShe also gained a NLP Practitioner Coaching Diploma and certified as a Life Coaching Practitioner\, Youth Coach\, NLP Master Practitioner\, Hypnotherapy Practitioner\, Mental Health First Aid and completed a BPS approved certificate in clinical supervision. The specific focus of her work addresses the mind-body connection and the impact our language (self-talk) and belief system has on all aspects of health and wellbeing as well as self-esteem and confidence. The principles of Neuroscience underpin the work Lisa does as she believes it is essential to educate people on how the brain works\, how to influence mindset and to understand neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to form and re-organise neural connections). Content also links with Annex C of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 detailing role and responsibilities of Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. \nCase study and practical learning examples are based on specific clinical practice examples and dilemmas and reference to specialist health evidence-base relevant to the role of the school nurse. Whilst in PICU\, she had a number of different roles. Nine years of that included a role as a specialist retrieval nurse (CATS) that entailed travelling around the country to stabilize and bring back critically unstable children. To do this she learned advanced nursing and basic medical skills in resuscitation\, all medical conditions\, and trauma. \nShe went on to teach these skills to student nurses\, qualified nurses and junior doctors as the Practice educator on intensive care. This role also involved lecturing regularly at South Bank University. She is a DSL for Safeguarding at an independent boarding School where she was is the Lead Nurse. On the back of setting up the school’s medical services\, she set up a first aid training company Action + First Aid. She is a freelance instructor for Qualsafe an awarding body approved by the HSE. She is also a senior accredited member of The National Counselling Society and The Association for Coaching. \nAfter graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy\, Lisa went on to work with adults to overcome addiction and mental health issues. Having experienced chronic ill health for many years\, Lisa developed a keen interest in brain health and the brain / mind/ body connection. Lisa was fascinated by how our minds can influence our wellbeing and vice versa. After overcoming her own health issues\, she then specialised in the field of chronic ill health and stress. Lisa went on to certify in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health\, Applied Neuroscience and Coaching and Women’s Health and Neurobiology. \nShe also gained a NLP Practitioner Coaching Diploma and certified as a Life Coaching Practitioner\, Youth Coach\, NLP Master Practitioner\, Hypnotherapy Practitioner\, Mental Health First Aid and completed a BPS approved certificate in clinical supervision. The specific focus of her work addresses the mind-body connection and the impact our language (self-talk) and belief system has on all aspects of health and wellbeing as well as self-esteem and confidence. The principles of Neuroscience underpin the work Lisa does as she believes it is essential to educate people on how the brain works\, how to influence mindset and to understand neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to form and re-organise neural connections). By doing so\, this enables us to build resilience\, develop essential life skills and learn how to manage stress effectively. \nTogether with her business partner\, Veronika Chidemo – a Teacher and School Mental Health Leadership Consultant\, she co-founded HeadStrong Training in Education.
