The course covers the practical skills needed by first aiders to competently deal with situations that require a high level of first aid or where there are responsible for people who have existing medical conditions.  This course will certify the holder as a first aider for 3 years. \nThere is a maximum of 12 candidates per course. It is also aimed at supporting school nurses with their training and development needs; helping them to raise the standards of care provided in schools\, this could count as CPD as part of their revalidation. Webinars will be recorded so if you cannot attend the day or have missed any of the box set\, they can be available for you to view when convenient. \nThis training is available to purchase as a single webinar or part of the Hieda box set series. \nThis set will be £500 for a member series place. \nThe aim of this session is to discuss the anatomy and physiology of the condition. A physiotherapist by training\, and also holds the diploma in Lifestyle medicine. \nDavid completed his degree in 2000 at Northumbria University. Since then\, he has worked in a range of health care settings within the NHS and private sector across the UK and Channel Islands. David has always held a keen interest in understanding pain experience and working with people who have long term pain conditions.  David has read widely on the subject of the pain science and management and has been fortunate to work with a number of forward thinking health professionals who have driven change in this area of healthcare. \nDavid held a pain specialist therapy role at Sheffield teaching hospital and was involved in supporting the development of a new community based model for pain services in South Yorkshire.  Since 2011 David has been working for Hywel Dda University Health Board based in Cardigan West Wales in a core MSK physiotherapy setting. In 2017 David set up the ESCAPE pain programme in his health board and went on to be the clinical champion for ESCAPE pain across Wales. \nIn 2019 David was one of 4 AHPs funded by Macmillan Cancer Support to develop cancer rehabilitation services for Hywel Dda. This role inspired him to complete his Lifestyle medicine diploma in 2020. The role culminated with the development of a virtual rehabilitation service supporting people with Prostate Cancer across the West Wales region (Prostate Active Care Together). \nDavid is currently working with a same day urgent care team in Cardigan supporting a nurse led service offering holistic and chronic health perspective in an acute service environment. The Mental Health and Wellbeing series of workshops has been designed to educate you and provide you with support strategies on subjects of mental health\, resilience\, trauma informed practice\, eating disorders\, self-harm and suicide. She is also a senior accredited member of The National Counselling Society and The Association for Coaching. \nAfter graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy\, Lisa went on to work with adults to overcome addiction and mental health issues. Having experienced chronic ill health for many years\, Lisa developed a keen interest in brain health and the brain / mind/ body connection. Lisa was fascinated by how our minds can influence our wellbeing and vice versa. After overcoming her own health issues\, she then specialised in the field of chronic ill health and stress. Lisa went on to certify in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health\, Applied Neuroscience and Coaching and Women’s Health and Neurobiology. \nShe also gained a NLP Practitioner Coaching Diploma and certified as a Life Coaching Practitioner\, Youth Coach\, NLP Master Practitioner\, Hypnotherapy Practitioner\, Mental Health First Aid and completed a BPS approved certificate in clinical supervision. The specific focus of her work addresses the mind-body connection and the impact our language (self-talk) and belief system has on all aspects of health and wellbeing as well as self-esteem and confidence. The principles of Neuroscience underpin the work Lisa does as she believes it is essential to educate people on how the brain works\, how to influence mindset and to understand neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to form and re-organise neural connections). By doing so\, this enables us to build resilience\, develop essential life skills and learn how to manage stress effectively. \nTogether with her business partner\, Veronika Chidemo – a Teacher and School Mental Health Leadership Consultant\, she co-founded HeadStrong Training in Education.
