DESCRIPTION:🏷️ From £240\n🎧 Anyone who has an interest in becoming a first aider for mental health or has a responsibility for mental health in the workplace (including mental health lead)\n📍 In person – St George’s School Windsor Castle – Day 1 – January 18\, 2027 and day 2 – February 01\, 2027 \n\nCourse outline:  \nThis course is accredited by Mental Health First Aid England. It is a two-day course suitable for anyone who lives with\, works with\, or supports young people aged 8 to 18 and wants to gain the knowledge\, awareness and skills to spot the signs of a young person experiencing poor mental health\, the confidence to start a conversation and the tools to safeguard and signpost to appropriate support. \nThis training gives the holder an in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing. It helps to develop practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. It gives the holder knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites\, their place of learning\, the NHS\, or a mix – engaging with parents\, carers and external agencies where appropriate.  \nEveryone who completes the course gets:  \n\nA certificate of attendance to say you are a Youth MHFAider® (valid for three years)\nA YouthMHFAider®  manual to refer to whenever you need it \nA workbook including some helpful tools to support your own mental health \n\n*If you would like to become a member and access discounted rates for Hieda CPD and events\, please click here. \nBOOK NOW \n\nSpeaker:  \nAllison Onions\, Head of Safeguarding and Mental Health\, St George’s School\, Windsor  \nAlly Onions is currently the Head of Safeguarding and Mental Health at St George’s School Windsor Castle. With her husband Jonny\, they run the boarding house\, which includes looking after the choristers who sing in St George’s Chapel. Ally has worked in boarding education for over 20 years. She recently completed an MA in Boarding Education\, looking at resilience and prep boarders. Ally is a trained Mental Health First Aider and Instructor Member\, and is currently rolling out training to staff and parents.
