SUMMARY:Mental health awareness
DESCRIPTION:Audience\nAll employees\, management\, volunteers\, and stake holders within any organisation. \n  \nCourse outline\nThis course provides the candidates with the knowledge and understanding of good mental health and the normal highs and lows within ‘mental health’. It also looks at what happens when this starts to go wrong and what signs to look out for that may indicate this. It concentrates on how to create a mentally healthier workplace and how to look after one’s own mental health. \n  \nTraining topics will include\n\nNormal mental health\nWhen normal becomes abnormal\nStress\, anxiety\, and depression\nWhat is a healthy working environment?\n\n  \nLearning outcomes\n\nTo understand mental health\nTo be able to recognize someone who is struggling and signpost them to help\nTo promote a mentally healthier environment.\n\n  \nTrainer\nJane Graham\, Director\, Hieda\nTrained at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children\, Jane has 27 years of nursing background; 17 of which is in trauma and intensive care. Whilst in PICU\, she had a number of different roles. Nine years of that included a role as a specialist retrieval nurse (CATS) that entailed travelling around the country to stabilize and bring back critically unstable children. To do this she learned advanced nursing and basic medical skills in resuscitation\, all medical conditions\, and trauma. \nShe went on to teach these skills to student nurses\, qualified nurses and junior doctors as the Practice educator on intensive care. This role also involved lecturing regularly at South Bank University. She has been a DSL for Safeguarding at an independent boarding school where she was Lead Nurse. SUMMARY:Bereavement and breaking bad news
DESCRIPTION:Audience\nHealthcare professionals\, medical providers\, and those with a responsibility for wellbeing. \n  \nCourse outline\nAt certain times we may be involved in breaking bad news or dealing with someone who is newly bereaved. This course looks at the process and support available that could be utilized to help during this period. The holder will learn skills to be able to empathize with and manage the ongoing wellbeing of the affected person.
