Course outline

Suicide risk is one of the most challenging situations school staff may face. This practical and sensitive training provides the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to recognise warning signs, respond appropriately, and safeguard students at risk. Grounded in best practice, the course supports schools in building a compassionate, informed, and proactive approach to student wellbeing and safety.

Training topics will include:

  • Identifying warning signs, behaviours, and risk factors
  • Having supportive conversations and responding to disclosures
  • Managing risk, safeguarding responsibilities, and postvention support

Learning outcomes:

  • Feel more confident addressing suicide risk within a school context
  • Understand how to respond calmly, safely, and effectively
  • Strengthen safeguarding practice and student support strategies
