First Aid at Work (FAAW)

This is a three-day course suitable for all workplaces with a HSE requirement. This course certifies attendees for three years with a Level 3 award in First Aid at Work (QCF) which meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, 1981. These courses are delivered by approved trainers using accredited materials, and delegates will receive accredited certification upon completion of training.

The course covers the practical skills needed by first aiders to competently deal with situations that require a higher level of first aid, or where they are responsible for people who have existing medical conditions. Skills to manage a wide range of accidents and illness will be covered, primary and secondary survey, recovery, basic life support, choking, use of the defibrillator, care of the unconscious casualty, prevention of worsening conditions and the principles of being a first aider.

We also offer a blended learning option which will reduce the classroom based part of the course by one day. The extra day will be online for delegates to complete before the face to face section.

This course can be booked for a maximum of 12 candidates per course.

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

This is a one-day course suitable for all workplaces with a HSE requirement. This course certifies attendees for three years with a Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid (QCF) which meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, 1981. These courses are delivered by approved trainers using accredited materials, and delegates will receive accredited certification upon completion of training.

The course covers the practical skills needed by first aiders to competently deal with situations that require a basic level of first aid. This includes managing an emergency, wound management, basic life support, choking, care of the unconscious casualty, regulations and first aid kits.

This course can be booked for a maximum of 12 candidates per course.

Paediatric First Aid at Work (PFAAW)

This is a two-day course suitable for practitioners caring for children under the age of eight, renewing their paediatric first aid certificates and/or those who have an Ofsted requirement for first aid provision. The course meets the criteria outlined by Ofsted and, in addition, certifies attendees for three years with a Level 3 award in Paediatric First Aid at Work (QCF), which meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, 1981. These courses are delivered by approved trainers using accredited materials, and delegates will receive accredited certification upon completion of training.

The course focuses on emergency situations encountered by professionals and carers looking after children and babies, including choking, resuscitation, temperature control, childhood conditions and injuries like fractures, sprains and strains. The course also covers existing medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes and anaphylaxis.

We also offer a blended learning option which will reduce the classroom based part of the course by one day. The extra day will be online for delegates to complete before the face to face section.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid  (PEFAW)

Mental Health First Aid Adult

This course is accredited by Mental Health First Aid England. It is a two-day course suitable for anyone with a responsibility for mental health in the workplace (mental health lead) or anyone who has an interest in becoming a first aider for mental health. The course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider for three years: it explores “normal” mental health, and when normal becomes unhealthy.

This training gives the holder an in-depth knowledge of the complexities behind identification, support and management. It helps the holder identify what could be done in the workplace/setting to prevent mental health issues developing and supporting those returning after a period of sickness. It covers the legislation, creating a healthier working  environment and the importance of self-care.

Everyone who completes this course gets:

  • A hard copy workbook to support their learning throughout the course
  • A digital manual to refer to whenever they need it​ after completing the course
  • A wallet-sized reference card with the Mental Health First Aid action plan​
  • A digital MHFAider® certificate
  • Access to the MHFAider Support App® for three years
  • Access to ongoing learning opportunities, resources and exclusive events ​
  • The opportunity to be part of the largest MHFAider® community in England

Mental Health First Aid Youth

This course is accredited by Mental Health First Aid England. It is a two-day course suitable for anyone who works with young people up to the age of 18.

This training gives the holder an in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing. It helps to develop practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. It gives the holder knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Youth MHFAider®
  • A YouthMHFAider®  manual to refer to whenever you need it
  • A workbook including some helpful tools to support your own mental health

Mental Health First Aid Champion (Adult or Youth)

This is a one-day course suitable for anyone with a responsibility for mental health in the workplace or at a school (mental health lead). It is also appropriate for anyone who has an interest in becoming a first aider for mental health.

This training gives the holder an understanding of common mental health issues and the ability to spot signs of mental ill health. It gives the holder knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are an MHFA Champion (or Youth MHFA Champion)
  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it

Can be delivered online or face to face
