Acting Executive Director, HIEDA, Consultancy and INSET: James Greenham

James has extensive senior leadership experience, including 25 years as Managing Director of a medical device manufacturer, and as an NED Board Member, and spends time volunteering in his local community (Oxfordshire).

 

Executive Director, Consultancy and Director, BAISIS/HIEDA: Bethan Hudson MTIOB (currently on maternity leave)

Bethan is Director of BAISIS and HIEDA and leads on all consultancy and INSET services across Abitas Group as Executive Director, Consultancy. Before joining BSA in 2017, Bethan was a pastoral lead and houseparent, in state and independent, co-educational and girls’ and UK and international schools. Bethan is a keen advocate for youth opportunity and social mobility worldwide and believes confident, well trained, and supported practitioners can be a positive force for young people and their development.

BEDS (Boarding and Education Services) Manager: Jess McArdle

Jess joined the team in April 2022 as a Business Support Executive, bringing with her a wealth of experience from diverse industries. With a strong background in the entertainment sector, Jess spent nine years working in various roles across cruise lines, holiday parks, and television. This period honed her skills in customer service, project management, and creative problem-solving, making her adept at navigating fast-paced environments.

In addition to her entertainment industry experience, Jess also spent time as an Administrator for a golf signage company, where she developed a keen eye for detail and further refined her administrative and organizational abilities. Jess leverages her extensive experience to provide high-level support, streamline processes, and contribute to the company’s continued success. Her dynamic background and commitment to excellence make her a valuable asset to the team.

Business Support Manager: Claire Scrimgeour

Claire joined the group in 2021 and has extensive financial and administrative experience making her well-placed to support core business functions and projects across the group.

Communications and Engagement Manager: Lottie Andrews

Lottie joined in February 2022. Having worked in busy marketing offices within both the state boarding and independent school sectors for over eight years, Lottie brings excellent communications experience to the role and produces  communications across the group to support members and promote events/services.

Senior Nurse Advisor: Rosie McManus

Trained at Great Ormond Street, Rosie made the move to the independent sector in 2006.  With an MA in Medical Ethics and Law and the Specialist Community Pubic Health Nurse qualification her passion remains promoting the Healthy Child Programme, and promoting the visibility of school nurses in the independent sector.

Senior Nurse Advisor: Skyler Moulder

Skyler is an experienced community school nurse with training in CAMHS foundation module, Sexual Health and Contraception module and Safeguarding Children Level 3. She has an MSc in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing and qualified as a Nurse Prescriber. In 2019 she became a Team Manager for the CCS Healthy Child Programme, managing a team of Nursery Nurses, Health Visitors and School Nurses during the pandemic. In 2020 she became Lead Nurse at The Leys in Cambridge which is where her passion for independent school nursing started. She is a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and a Mental Health First Aider. Skyler supports HIEDA members as a Senior Nurse Advisor.

Business Support Executive: Donna Milne

Donna joined the team in May 2026. She brings a wealth of administrative and healthcare support experience to their role as Business Support Executive. Previously, she worked as an Admin Assistant in a GP surgery, managing day-to-day office operations and supporting patient care, and as a Theatre Support Worker within the NHS, assisting clinical teams and ensuring smooth surgical procedures. With a strong focus on organization, efficiency, and collaboration, Donna is committed to providing seamless support across the business.

Honorary President of HIEDA: Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak

Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak is Regius Professor of Medicine at the University of Glasgow and Chief Scientist (Health) for the Scottish Government. An internationally recognised leader in cardiovascular and precision medicine, Anna previously held the British Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine and served as Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at Glasgow. She led development of Glasgow’s clinical academic campus and pioneered partnerships between academia, the NHS and industry. With over 550 peer-reviewed publications and more than £100 million in research funding, Anna was awarded a DBE in 2016 for services to medical science.
