Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak appointed Honorary President of HIEDA

The Health in Education Association (HIEDA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak DBE MD FRCP FAHA FMedSci FRSE as its new Honorary President.

Professor Dominiczak is Regius Professor of Medicine at the University of Glasgow and Chief Scientist (Health) for the Scottish Government. Internationally recognised for her leadership in cardiovascular and precision medicine, she brings to HIEDA extensive experience in research, innovation and system-wide collaboration, as well as strong strategic links across Scotland’s health and policy landscape.

During her distinguished career, she has held leadership roles at the University of Glasgow, including Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, and previously held the British Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine. She also led the development of Glasgow’s clinical academic campus at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Professor Dominiczak said:

“I am delighted to take on the role of Honorary President of HIEDA. Health in education is an important topic, and I look forward to working with colleagues and members to deliver meaningful outcomes for young people and their communities.”

Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for HIEDA, which promotes wellbeing in educational settings in recognition of its critical role in ensuring positive long-term outcomes.
