Keep your Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) skills up to date with this practical four-hour refresher course, designed for those who have previously completed the Youth MHFA qualification. Recommended every three years, this interactive session renews your confidence, refreshes your knowledge and provides the opportunity to practise applying the Youth MHFA Action Plan when supporting young people aged 8–18.
Whether you work in a school, healthcare setting or support young people in another capacity, this course will help you remain confident in recognising the signs of poor mental health, responding appropriately and signposting to further support. Delegates will also receive the latest updates in youth mental health, allowing them to continue creating safe, supportive and mentally healthy environments.
By refreshing your MHFA skills, you demonstrate an ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of children and young people while maintaining your Youth MHFAider certification.
Delegates must have previously completed the Youth Mental Health First Aid (Youth MHFA) course to attend this refresher training.

Speaker:

Kayleigh has over two decades of experience working across a variety of mental health settings, including publishing research with Oxford and Cambridge Universities; psychological and psychiatric nursing roles within inpatient forensic mental health services; third sector roles in the areas of suicide support and community engagement; and public health promotion within the NHS and local authority.
Kayleigh trained as an MHFA instructor in 2014 to complement the array of bespoke mental health and wellbeing, physical health, and public health training packages she is experienced in developing and facilitating. Kayleigh is currently an MHFA trainer for Harmless CIC, and also delivers MHFA on a freelance basis for a wide variety of other clients across corporate, third sector and government settings. Kayleigh became a National Trainer with MHFA England in 2017.
