Job Description

Rochester Independent College is seeking to appoint a full time College Nurse. The hours would be Monday to Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm.

The role of the College Nurse, working along side the other members of the medical team, is to manage a health programme for the assessment, evaluation, maintenance and improvement of the health of students. The nurse will assist in removing or modifying health related barriers to learning in individual students and will help to promote the prevention of illness and disability as well as early detection and correction of health problems.

Professional nursing qualification requirement – The post holder should hold a current nursing registration on Part 1 of the NMC register.

Rochester Independent College was founded as a sixth form college in 1984 and offers a fresh alternative to traditional independent education. There is no uniform and students and teachers are on first name terms. Today, Rochester Independent College (RIC) has 370 students from the age of 11 and offers places for boarders from the age of 14.

Classes are small. On average there are 8 students in each group. As well as a full secondary education from year 7 to sixth form, the College specialises in intensive one year A level and GCSE courses. We also have a good track record of excellent results on retake A level and GCSE courses for students aiming at competitive university courses including Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science and Dentistry.
