Job Description

This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.

The Education Support Team in Truro provides core and critical operational support for clinical and academic teaching activity for students in Years 2 to 5 of the BMBS medical programme across Cornwall.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a management position that supports the operational aspects of a growing team on an expanding programme as part of a small, cohesive management team.  You will need to work effectively, flexibly and have the confidence to act autonomously using your own initiative within a wider administrative team in a busy environment and in collaboration with individuals and teams on other University of Exeter campuses to deliver an excellent service. The ability to build relationships and networks with key stakeholders to achieve short- and medium-term results while also seeking to define and deliver longer-term solutions will be key.

This is a new role, and you will not need any specialist knowledge.  You will however apply their skills and experience in a wide ranging management remit involving a variety of support functions for education at the University’s Truro campus including, but not limited to, infrastructure, finance, health and safety, IT and information management. There is an expectation that this role will develop a network of key contacts across campuses and institutions, representing the Truro campus in various groups and engaging specialists and management on behalf of the Truro team in order to access the support required for the campus.

About you

You will have significant or emergent experience of completing or contributing to clearly defined operational projects, ideally within a large organisation and in a management context.  You must also have the ability to lead others and use your own initiative to achieve successful outcomes following the outlining of a project or goal.  You will have gained success working collaboratively and proactively in a diverse team to deliver multiple objectives to a high standard.

You will be expected to provide specialist management and administrative support and act as a first/named point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.  You will promote the consistent and correct application of processes, systems and codes of practice ensuring compliance with internal and external regulation.

We are seeking a confident individual with a flexible approach and strong communication, management and organisation skills who has the ability to help shape this new role and manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced and exciting environment.
