The EDI & wellbeing team deliver a mix of projects and programmes relating to improving equity for people of all backgrounds and characteristics, championing inclusion and improving diversity within the workforce.

The EDI and wellbeing projects and programmes operate across the health and care sector and are often delivered as part of multi-disciplinary team working with colleagues from different specialisms across the business, from clinical and transformation specialists to data, digital and communications & engagement.


Main duties of the job


The EDI and wellbeing team deliver a mix of projects and programmes such as reviewing and improving policy, EDI & wellbeing strategy development and action planning, inclusive leadership, reporting and metrics, and improving EDI & wellbeing performance and accountability throughout organisations.

The role will involve working across a portfolio of projects and programmes, sometimes acting as a subject matter expert or workstream lead feeding into a larger multi-disciplinary team.

As we expand our EDI &Wellbeing consultancy offer, we are particularly interested in applicants who can support with the development and delivery of training, advice, and positive action programmes of activity which promote social justice and equitable experiences for all.

This role would suit someone with a broad range of EDI and/or wellbeing skills and experience, who has proven experience of supporting people from marginalised communities in the workplace or community settings. Applicants should have some project management experience, demonstrating their ability to deliver services within quality and time constraints.

  • Educated to Masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification in equality, diversity, inclusion or equivalent level of experience.
  • Project management qualification such as Prince 2 Foundation

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in the delivery of EDI and wellbeing related projects, programmes or services
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Experience in communications and stakeholder management/community engagement.
  • Experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience in the design, delivery and management of EDI and wellbeing campaigns, initiatives or schemes
  • Skills to support EDI and wellbeing planning and improvement.
Desirable criteria
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools
  • Experience in development/ delivery of EDI data analysis.
  • Understanding of the public sector
  • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
  • Experience in the use of social media for marketing and communications.
  • Experience in design and delivery of group facilitation and training
  • Experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
