This independent school is looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and professional medical team.

The position forms part of the Prep School medical provision, which is part of the wider medical and nursing services provided to the Felsted community via a clinically effective, high-quality service of nursing care. The Medical Centre is an integral part of our School and this position works together with nurses in our pupil’s health care needs.

This position will involve assessing and treating minor injuries or illness including recording of basic observations (blood pressure, heart rate and temperature), creating and maintaining medical records, ordering medical supplies and promoting the wellbeing across the school.

The position will be working 28.5 hours per week during term-time only (34 weeks per year. The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to the working hours between Monday to Sunday in accordance with the Medical Centre rota as the School provides 24-hour care. It is essential that the successful person has experience working with young people/children and previously within the medical or education sector. A focus on providing excellent customer service is key, as is excellent communication and ICT skills and having clear empathy and understanding of boys’ and girls’ development needs,
