Job Description

Claremont Fan Court School is an independent day school for pupils aged from 2½ to 18 years. The school is set in 100 acres of historic landscaped grounds of the Claremont Estate in Esher, Surrey.

We are looking to appoint an additional school nurse to work in the wellbeing hub. The wellbeing hub is an integral part of the school and is run by a small team of qualified nurses providing professional care and wellbeing support to pupils, as well as providing first aid to all members of the school community.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently and passionate about children and young people’s health. They will have a registered general nursing qualification with current NMC registration and have relevant experience of working with children (experience of working in a school would be an advantage), along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

To staff the care centre beyond the normal school day, our ideal hours would be 8.15am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday; however, we are flexible and welcome applications for part-time hours to allow for a job share arrangement. Please indicate on the application form your preferred working pattern.

We offer a competitive salary (RCN band 6 pro rata) and all the benefits of working in a thriving independent school, including generous contributory pension, life assurance and discounted school fees, free lunches during term time, onsite parking and a cycle-to-work scheme.

Further details of the role and how to apply can be found under the ‘Working at Claremont’ link via the button below.

Please send completed application forms by an email.

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday 29 January 2024.

Interview date: w/c 29 January 2024.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are seeking applications from suitable candidates from all backgrounds. We are fully committed to creating and sustaining a positive and supportive working environment free from discrimination where staff feel valued and respected. Claremont Fan Court School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
