Please note this is a fixed term post for 24 months for a full time position working Monday to Friday based at Law House, Carluke.

The post holder will manage and direct the development and delivery of health promotion programmes, specifically brief interventions training programmes,  with the overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities in line with Scottish Government priorities and local needs.

You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, experience of working in health promotion or a relevant health/health improvement related discipline, additional training or experience to masters degree or equivalent, a highly developed specialist knowledge or experience in the public health field through working in one relevant, specific topic or skill-based area e.g. with young people, mental health, physical activity, nursing, community development, training, research.

The post holder will have an understanding of the Health Improvement Policy Agenda, partnership working, negotiation and problem solving skills, project management skills training, facilitation and group work skills, good written and verbal communication skills, needs assessment knowledge and skills, evaluation/research knowledge and skills, a knowledge of strategy development and implementation, IT skills and budget management skills.

The post holder must be a car driver with a valid UK driving licence.
