First Aid for Mental Health (2 day course November 11th and 17th)

🎧 Anyone who has an interest in becoming a first aider for mental health or has a responsibility for mental health in the workplace (including mental health lead)
📍 In person – St George’s School Windsor Castle – Day 1 – November 11, 2025 and day 2 – November 17, 2025

Course outline: 

This course is accredited by Mental Health First Aid England. It is a two-day course suitable for anyone who works with young people up to the age of 18. 

This training gives the holder an in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing. It helps to develop practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. It gives the holder knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate. 

Everyone who completes the course gets: 

• A certificate of attendance to say you are a Youth MHFAider® 
• A YouthMHFAider®  manual to refer to whenever you need it 
• A workbook including some helpful tools to support your own mental health

Speaker:

Allison Onions, Head of Safeguarding and Mental Health, St George’s School, Windsor 

Ally Onions is currently the Head of Safeguarding and Mental Health at St George’s School Windsor Castle. With her husband Jonny, they run the boarding house, which includes looking after the choristers who sing in St George’s Chapel. Ally has worked in boarding education for over 20 years. She recently completed an MA in Boarding Education, looking at resilience and prep boarders. Ally is a trained Mental Health First Aider and Instructor Member, and is currently rolling out training to staff and parents.
