Meningitis is a serious life-threatening disease that requires urgent medical treatment. It can strike quickly and without warning. Anyone of any age can contract meningitis, however young children and adolescents have a higher risk. Being aware of the signs and symptoms and knowing what action to take can help to save lives.
When a case of meningitis occurs in an educational setting, it often creates fear and anxiety. Having a better understanding of meningitis can help to allay fears and offer reassurance to the community.
This webinar raises awareness of meningitis, signs and symptoms and what to do if you suspect a meningitis case.

Claire Donovan, Helpline and Information Nurse Manager, Meningitis Now
Claire is the Helpline and Information Nurse Manager at Meningitis Now. She has over 25yrs experience working as a nurse and midwife in the NHS. Over the past 15yrs, she has used her nursing experiencing in the charity sector.
Claire has many areas of responsibility. She manages the nurse-led helpline and the Rebuilding Futures Fund providing support to those struggling with the impact of meningitis. She ensures all disease information is accurate and manages the charity’s scientific research portfolio.
In her spare time, she enjoys walking, cooking and weekend and trips away in her little pop top caravan.
