Audience: Healthcare professionals, medical providers and those with a responsibility for caring for a young person with a cancer in a workplace.
Course outline
In any environment, work or school, you may not always feel confident to know how best to support someone with cancer. There are challenging times during diagnoses, treatment, the point of return to work and after cancer; this course reflects on this journey.
Training topics will include:
- What can I do about work and cancer?
- What roles do employers play in cancer support
- My Cancer Story.
Learning outcomes:
- To understand the journey of the cancer sufferer
- To identify support strategies available for someone returning to work
- To gain an understand of medical provisions in the workplace

William Goldsmith
William Goldsmith has a career spanning almost twenty years in boarding education and leadership. He is currently Head of St George’s School Windsor Castle. William is a passionate about a skills and mindset-based learning philosophy and has a background in emotional wellbeing and mental health. He is a founding fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and Royal Society of the Arts.
