The Post
Steyning Grammar School’s wellbeing and health centre provides a high standard of wellbeing, health, care and welfare support for our students.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic professionally qualified Boarding Health and Wellbeing
Lead to join our team providing a holistic approach to the care of students, which includes the
promotion of good wellbeing and health; working with internal and external professionals to secure
the effective delivery of physical and mental health care to young people well enough to remain in
boarding provision; the development and maintenance of best practice in wellbeing and healthcare
for young people; and where needed, minor injury assessment.

Suitable applicants will be registered nurses on part 1 of the NMC register with relevant post-registration experience and possess a specialist practitioner school nurse qualification.

Alternative professional health care qualifications may be considered, where supported by relevant certification and experience in the provision of health and wellbeing services to young people in a residential setting. Knowledge and experience of any of the following will be advantageous but not mandatory:

– Supporting and promoting wellbeing and healthcare in young people;
– providing first aid; and
– the care of children with chronic illnesses will be advantageous.

Salary scale – £27000-£31000.
Onsite accommodation may be available by negotiation.
Full time hours 37.5 hours – 42 weeks per year.
Shift pattern 07:30 am and negotiable thereafter to amount of 37.5 hours.
