This role is To provide effective leadership, across the four pillars of nursing practice (clinical practice, facilitation of learning, leadership, and evidence, research, and development) to all nurses working in East Lothian health visiting and school nursing services.
To support the General Manager/ Chief Nurse in developing new models of care, which deliver positive outcomes for children through the delivery of individually, centred, safe and effective care that improves the child and parent
To lead the development of a staffing model across services, which are based on child and parent need, best available evidence, and sound professional judgement. Maintain overall responsibility for the establishment, of nursing staff recruitment and development, and contribute to all operation directly managed. Continue to develop all services to deliver child cantered care which follows best practice and meets the requirements of those children and parents utilising both services.
Provide assurance on the quality of care being delivered across both health visiting and school nursing that ensures compliance with all governance standards.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
