The Scottish Government has recently announced significant investment into improvement of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. As part of this development we are delighted to offer this opportunity for experienced Clinical Psychologists to take on leadership responsibility for aspects of psychology provision to children’s services. There are opportunities within core CAMHS to undertake team lead roles in the Angus Locality Team and similarly an equivalent post in the Perth & Kinross Team. Clinical roles associated with these posts can be broadly aligned to areas of experience and clinical interest across both mental health and neurodevelopmental pathways. Additionally, a further opportunity exists in respect of the development and redesign of paediatric liaison services based at Ninewells Hospital and providing input to a range of paediatric specialities.

The Psychological Therapies team in CAMHS comprises approx 25 members of staff, over two sites, and includes Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associates, CBT Psychotherapists and Systemic Family Therapists. These posts will be managed and supervised through the Psychological Therapies Service and can be based in either Dundee or Perth. Opportunities exist for part-time working with flexibility in respect of a hybrid mode of having some time working from home should this be sought.

In addition to direct clinical work this post will linked closely to the multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service. There will be regular opportunities for supervision and future opportunities to pursue further training or involvement with clinically relevant research and training initiatives. This represents an excellent opportunity to join an established and supportive team with good links within both CAMHS and the wider NHS Tayside Psychological Therapies Service.
