Join us as Deputy Medical Director and play an essential role in improving the delivery of Health and Social Care services across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as well as the leadership and management of our Trust. Your role in our future

Working closely with our Chief Medical Officer, and deputising when necessary, as well as our Clinical Directors, you will help provide the professional medical leadership for the organisation, applying the highest standards and expectations of clinical excellence to our professional practices and performance.

It will be your responsibility to advise the Chief Medical Officer on any matters of clinical practice, accreditation standards, medical staffing issues or investment of resources that might impact on the Trust’s ability to meet strategic or operational goals and the quality of patient services.

You will be central to the delivery of key objectives, including the Trust’s ‘Flow’ program and improvements in the Urgent and Emergency Care pathway.

At the heart of your success will be your ability to build relationships and work in constructively with internal teams and multiple external partners, including the CQC, Coroner and Medical Examiner’s Office, and organisations across the Health and Social Care setting in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Your Profile:

  • You will be an established and experienced Consultant with significant leadership experience working in an Acute Trust.
  • Able to work at the highest levels and build strong relationships and partnerships with internal teams and multiple partner agencies.
  • A decisive leader, capable and committed to translating policy and analysis into practical actions and able to enthuse, lead and motivate others.
  • A track record of achievement: the introduction of robust systems and processes and facilitating effective teamworking practices.
  • Significant experience in complex organisational change and the introduction of service innovation and development
