Job Description

City & Hackney CAMHS are excited to be recruiting two new full time posts. One post is for a fixed term maternity cover and one post is a permanent contract for Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) / Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP) in The Mental Health in Schools Support Team (MHST).

In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the EMHP/CWP role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.

The MHST is an arm of the well-established Well-being and Mental Health Service (WAMHS), embedded in schools across City & Hackney supporting schools to implement whole school approaches to mental health. WAMHS have laid the foundations for the MHST to be able to build on whole school approaches as well as provide direct support for children, young people and parents through workshops and guided self-help interventions for young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The successful post holder/s will join our existing multidisciplinary team of EMHPs, CAMHS Practitioners, Educational Psychologists and trainee EMHPS, and play a key role in supporting local schools’ overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

The post holder/s will work as an autonomous and responsible practitioner within their scope of practice, alongside education colleagues and help to develop the well-being and mental health service for their schools. They will also work flexibly with their team to provide an enticing cross-school offer of groups and workshops which can be accessed by school communities across City & Hackney.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people’s lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Please find attached the job description and person/role specification.
