Elmhurst Ballet School, in Association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, is a world-renowned centre for the training and education of talented, passionate and committed young ballet dancers. The school was recently judged to be excellent in all areas by ISI and outstanding in all areas by OFSTED, October 2023, and has an international reputation for the quality of its work.

The majority of students board at the school and we offer fully equipped modern boarding houses for years 7 to 13. Lower School boarding is located on the school site and Upper School boarding is just a short walk away.

The school is seeking to recruit a Head of Health and Wellbeing.

Working in the school’s onsite Health and Wellbeing centre, this position will provide strong leadership that focuses on the students’ physical, emotional and mental health. Ensuring that promotion, education, training, initiatives, resources, policies, and procedures are in place and appropriate for our unique setting.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate the health and wellbeing work of the school including; a multi-disciplinary team of internal staff and external multi-agency staff to meet the diverse needs of students who attend Elmhurst Ballet School. The successful candidate will have the drive and passion to execute an exceptional health and wellbeing offer that puts students at the centre, embraces research to evolve and adapt our elite performance environment, all underpinned by a caring culture. They will ensure that we meet our statement of Health and Wellbeing provision, the National Minimum Standards for boarding schools and will promote and embody the school’s ethos; the Elmhurst Way. This work is key to supporting the school’s 2025 Strategy which is to recruit and retain the best talent and find innovative ways of generating new income streams into the school to continually support the student’s development.

This is a full-time position working full-time during term-time (37 weeks per year). The postholder would be required to work Monday – Friday during the core school hours which is 8am – 4pm however some flexibility can be agreed.

The actual salary for this role is £40,000 per year. The FTE based on 52 weeks per year is £59,428 per year.
