RADA’s Student Wellbeing Service is an established part of the Academy’s culture, well respected by colleagues, and used and trusted by the students. We are seeking an individual with energy and imagination to lead a talented and diverse multidisciplinary team to further develop the service in line with RADA’s values and strategic aims

You will work in a creative, dynamic institution with a prestigious history, but facing firmly towards the future. You will support future leaders in industry in both creative and technical fields.

RADA is at an exciting point of change having recently appointed a new Principal, and with a curriculum review in process. You will have the opportunity to shape the Student Wellbeing Service and to integrate wellbeing and mental health awareness into the body of the training.

RADA is located in London’s West End, and is surrounded by some of the UK’s most prestigious universities. This gives the opportunity for the exchange of ideas and best practice with colleagues in other institutions enabling the growth and development of the service.

The Student Wellbeing Service provides pastoral care, counselling, mental health and disability advice, and makes a key contribution to the Academy’s mission to support all students, whatever their background, to reach their full potential. The Wellbeing team works within Student & Academic Services and with academic staff to support students to overcome barriers to learning and development.

The post of Head of Student Wellbeing is required to hold a qualification in counselling, psychotherapy or counselling psychology and is responsible for the strategic planning; day to day delivery; management and development of the Service; and for providing expertise and advice to the Academy on a range of wellbeing issues, including risk assessment and management. The post holder is RADA’s Safeguarding Lead, sets safeguarding policy and contributes to meeting statutory obligations for Prevent.
