Your Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Organise and oversee the smooth running of clinics aiming for patients to be seen within 30 minutes of their appointment time as per Trust policy. To include advising patients of any delays with appropriate explanation to patients/carers.
  • Preparation and organisation of medical notes for all disciplines within the rheumatology/specialist medicine OPD. Checking clinic lists are correct and ensuring the relevant paperwork is available prior to the start of clinic.

As part of ongoing development and following appropriate training able to perform the necessary investigational and diagnostic procedures, achieving specific competencies.eg: Venesection, ECG’s

  • Proven experience in a caring role.
  • Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of HCA.
  • Logical and consistent work and career pattern.
  • Ability to communicate with wide range of people.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Flexibility with working pattern to cover the department between 8-18.00 Monday to Friday with possible weekend clinics in the future.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Patience, dependability and motivation shown to be able to take instruction / directions.
  • Aware of personal limitations.
