Job Description

Roedean is an extraordinary school, sitting within the South Downs National Park and
overlooking the English Channel. It is not just the location, but our reputation for excellence in
pastoral care, our strong academic focus, and our genuine belief in the importance of creativity
and an all-round education, that makes Roedean unique.
We are seeking a remarkable and visionary person to lead our counselling team. You will be
experienced and well qualified (BACP accredited or equivalent), but most importantly, you will
have the girls’ aspirations and welfare at the heart of your vision. We are seeking someone who
values kindness and generosity, who can build transformational relationships and who wants
to make a difference to every individual, as an individual.
The successful candidate will have the enthusiasm, energy and experience to lead a highquality counselling service to pupils experiencing a wide range of emotional problems. We are
looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, and has an interest in them
as individuals, ensuring that every pupil succeeds and gets the support and encouragement
they need, as well as having the insight and communication skills to build strong relationships
across the school. A clinical supervisor qualification would be desirable.
We welcome your interest in being part of our journey at a time of continued development.
Roedean is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young
people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check
is required for all successful applicants.
