The Fire Fighters Charity supports the health and wellbeing needs of the Fire Services Community and offers a broad range of services tailored to meet individual need. The Charity is there to support the UK fire family at different times during their lives, and for different reasons. As part of our ongoing development, we are now looking to appoint a Mental Health Services Manager.  Accountable to the Psychological Services Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the online counselling service and digital mental health support pathways, leading and managing a small team of Psychological Practitioners.

You will triage risk, carry out assessments of need and identify treatment plans for service users accessing mental health services, liaising with third party agencies/statutory services as clinically appropriate. You will also manage a caseload providing mental health support to service users.

Working collaboratively with the multi professional team you will act as a point of contact for practitioners, providing advice, support and guidance and ensuring there is an appropriate & timely response to any concerns or issues

Organised in your approach, and with excellent IT skills,  you will ensure service outcomes and outputs are monitored and evaluated and mental health services are delivered within the Charity’s governance framework.

To be successful, you will:

  • Be an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a broad knowledge and skill base
  • Hold current registration as a Mental Health Practitioner (NMC, HCPC or equivalent)
  • Have experience in clinically supervising/leading a team and operational management of a mental health and wellbeing service
  • Experience of working with a patient centred philosophy of multi-professional working in a mental health setting
  • Be experienced in assessing risk and safeguarding
  • Be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing, together with sound judgment skills

Please note that this is a digital role which can be home based or based in one of the Charity’s residential centres. This role will include line management of a geographically dispersed team and there will be some requirement for occasional travel.
