The role

University of Bristol Students’ Health Service is a GP practice for Bristol University students and their dependents. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to deliver a high quality service within a dynamic and rewarding environment. You should be an experienced Nurse Prescriber with excellent proven clinical skills within a Primary Care setting, ideally with experience or knowledge relevant to working with the student age group.

We have two vacancies within the team with a total of 42 hours available. We will be as flexible as possible about how these hours are structured so please specify your availability and preference within your application.

Occasional working on a Saturday or weekday evening, and some cover of university closure days is also required.

What will you be doing?

The clinical role involves assessment, diagnosis, decision making, and issuing prescriptions as required, both over the telephone and face to face through booked appointments.

You will undertake assessment of minor illness and injury, chronic disease management, wound care, immunisations, sexual health and contraception.

You will act as an independent nurse practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge whilst participating in direct evidence-based patient care. You will be working within a supportive multi-disciplinary environment.

You are enthusiastic about working with young people and work well within a multidisciplinary environment. Experience of working in a university or similar type of setting would be desired but not essential.
