POSITION SUMMARY

You will manage the daily operations of:

  • Holiday Club (8AM-6PM during School Holidays)
  • Breakfast Club (8AM-9AM during Term Time)
  • Afterschool Club (3PM-6PM during Term Time)

You will oversee the team, deliver a high standard of education and ensure that the children have an incredibly enjoyable and memorable experience during their stay, prioritizing fun and engaging activities to create lasting, positive memories. You will be part of the nursery’s management team and when time permits you will also assist with the smooth running of the nursery.

MAIN DUTIES

Education and Development

  • Responsible for delivering the Clubs in line with the nursery’s guiding principles & values.
  • Ensure adequate outdoor play happens on a daily basis.
  • Oversight on all planning and activities and developing age-appropriate planning.
  • Ensure the learning environment and resources are best in class.

Staff

  • Manage, supervise and support the preschool nursery staff.
  • Conduct staff appraisals and supervisions (minimum every 4 months).
  • Conduct regular observations of staff in the rooms: asses and plan next steps.
  • Ensure all staff understand and work to the nursery’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all staff records are correctly maintained.
  • Interview potential new staff members abiding by Safer Recruitment practices.
  • Onboard new staff and manage the Induction Process.

Admin

  • Organize showarounds and manage the enquiry process.
  • Responsible for the efficient running of the Clubs

Regulatory

  • Ensure the preschool nursery meets or exceeds requirements defined by the Government, Ofsted, and local authorities. atall times

Safeguarding

  • Review staff team’s on-going suitability.
  • Ensure the team understands safeguarding requirements.
  • Maintain documentation in line with GDPR guidance.
  • Keep up to date on Safeguarding knowledge and best practices.
  • Ensure Accident & Incident forms are completed correctly.
  • Ensure all staff training is up to date and the staff team have a robust understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure the room is secure and safe at all times.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years recent experience working in education.
  • Excellent working knowledge of statutory guidance.
  • Excellent Safeguarding knowledge.
  • Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning.
  • Empathy and understanding of children.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with children and parents.
  • Ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records.
  • Effective team leadership.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

REPORTING

  • Reports to the Regional Manager

  • An enhanced DBS background check and 2 references are required before employment commences.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £30,257.50 per year
