Job Description

This is an exciting time to join our growing Mental Health and Suicide Prevention team. We are an innovative and supportive team who are truly passionate about improving mental health and wellbeing and preventing suicides through working closely with our partners across Hampshire. We enjoy working collaboratively and can offer a safe space for professional development and training. We work as part of a Public Health Partnership with the Isle of Wight Council, with a shared Senior Management Team providing strategic leadership to both Councils.

You’ll provide leadership to deliver Hampshire’s Suicide Prevention Action plan, building and maintaining our strong working relationships with partners across our two Integrated Care Systems (ICSs); Frimley ICS and Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICS. You’ll work closely with a range of partners including People with Living Experience, the community and voluntary sector, and statutory partners across health and social care to prevent self harm, suicides and support people impacted and affected by suicides across Hampshire.

Significant experience of working in a public health setting and a degree in health or a related subject, plus a Master’s degree level in Public Health (or a related field) are essential. You’ll have a proven track record of leading and developing strategies autonomously, using your influencing skills to be an advocate for mental health. Your initiative and innovation will enable you to integrate these strategies into successful policies and your excellent communication skills will enable you to build relationships and effectively explain processes to our partners. You’ll also apply your skills to commission high quality public health services for the community.

In return, we are committed to your continued personal development and offer an extensive Benefits Package. We recognise the benefits hybrid working can bring, so you’ll be able to work remotely (with equipment provided) with office-based working in Winchester once a fortnight.

Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role.
