37 hours Per Week, term time only (plus up to 3 weeks – flexible)

Darwen St James’ is a small Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary Academy, situated in the heart of Darwen. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to work closely with pupils in the academy and ensure that the academy is a safe place for all. As the Pupil Wellbeing Co-ordinator you will also be a key worker for child protection issues, liaise with Children’s Services regarding children on the Children Protection Register, and be the Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing support to staff to enable them to carry out their safeguarding duties.

This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

The suitable candidate will:

  • Work as part of a team within school and with other professionals involved in supporting pupils and their families
  • Have an awareness of Children’s Social Care provision
  • Have a minimum of level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) qualification
  • Work to the highest standards, demonstrating resistance to pressure and retaining professional focus and behaviour
