About The Role :
You will play an important part at our summer school. You will provide empathy, care, reassurance, and professional support for our Summer School staff, students and (if necessary) parents.
You will need to be professional in your interactions with students, staff and parents.
You will provide a high level of health care and support to the students and staff during the summer and be required to be sensitive regarding any medical issues which may arise.
Main Duties include but are not limited to:
- Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of students.
- Working sensitively and collaboratively with the Welfare and Management team at our Summer Schools.
- Holding scheduled clinics for pre-arranged and unexpected appointments for staff and students to treat minor complaints and deliver first aid advising on the need for additional medical intervention.
- Be available for scheduled times On-Call and if necessary attend any Call Outs at these times. We have two schools 20 min walk apart, so call-out would be to the other school.
- Monitoring ongoing medical conditions of staff and students.
- Advising on administering treatment prescribed for students.
- Ensure accurate and up to date record keeping of clinics and calls received and reporting of any medical conditions to the Welfare Coordinator and staff accompanying students (where appropriate).

Experience Required:
- A relevant Nursing qualification or equivalent.
- Clear empathy and understanding of children and teenagers’ development and needs
- Experience and knowledge of working with children (under the age of 18)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to manage an unexpected event in a calm and professional manner
- To be able to effectively communicate information with other relevant staff
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all record keeping.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 weeks
Salary: £450.00-£750.00 per week
