Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is a community focused provider of local and acute care, providing high quality services to over one million people living across the London boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley.With a turnover of around £700 million, we provide services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, University Hospital Lewisham and a range of community settings in Lewisham. Band 6 School Nurse Screening & Universal Team 

An exciting opportunity has risen for highly motivated Band 6 School Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic School Health Service Team which is responsible for the delivery of Screening and Universal services to school aged children as part of the Healthy Child Programme.

The enthusiastic post holder will be responsible for completing care plans for school aged children with health conditions, assess health needs questionnaire and work in partnership to refer children to specialist services. The post holder will work very closely with the manager in leading junior nurses and health care assistants in screening children at school entry, which is an essential universal service delivery. The post holder will also act as the coordinator for the Healthy Weight Team, delivering a lifestyle programme under the Henry licence model.

It is desirable that the candidate has experience in working with children in the community setting with good understanding of public health.  The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integral skill-mix team.
