We are therefore looking for a hardworking, flexible, enthusiastic and motivated nurse with an interest in Critical Care nursing.   The successful candidate should possess excellent organisational & time management skills.  The nursing staff work 12 hour shifts and this would include day & night duty rotation depending on the area but working hours/patterns can be discussed further at time of interview.

Surgical High Dependency Unit consists of up to eight level 2 beds which provide care of both emergency and elective surgical patients from all surgical/orthopaedic specialities.  There is a rotation with Intensive Therapy Unit which is collocated in the same area.  Informal enquiries to SCN Kathy Henderson on tel: 01463 704458, email: or ADNM Gerry Dewhurst via switchboard, email:

Intensive Therapy Unit is nine bedded Level 3 unit providing care to critically ill patients.  Currently the unit split into a separate COVID Intensive care providing level 2 and level 3 care, to patients with COVID infection.  There is a rotation with SHDU.
