Course outline

This training package comprises of 12 webinars on a variety of medical topics, the purpose of which is to provide updates on medical conditions and refresh skills. This box set is suitable for all organisations who wish to further their knowledge with a view to supporting their employees within the work environment. It is also aimed at supporting school nurses with their training and development needs; helping them to raise the standards of care provided in schools, this could count as CPD as part of their revalidation. Webinars will be recorded so if you cannot attend the day or have missed any of the box set, they can be available for you to view when convenient.

This training is available to purchase as a single webinar or part of the Hieda box set series.

This set will be £600 for a member series place.

Obesity and over-weight is a growing problem amongst all ages in the UK now and early intervention is critical. We will explain the latest science on how to understand obesity and address the root causes which include stress, poor sleep, inactivity and the quality of what we eat. The latest research on the gut microbiome and ultra-processed foods will be covered. You can learn about simple steps to support particularly fussy eaters and encourage a more holistic view within your teams on how to support children to live healthy lives which will improve all areas of their health including mental health.

  • To have an understanding of the struggles a person may experience when overweight

Rosie McManus RSCN, Dip HR (Child), BSc (Hons), MSc (Law), Head of Boarding, St John’s College School

Trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children Rosie came to school nursing in the independent sector 16 years ago. With a passion for boarding pastoral and health care Rosie has developed an interest in the understanding and development of the health needs of boarding school students. Passionate about the nurse’s role in the delivery of the PSHE curriculum, Rosie is currently the Head of Boarding at St John’s College School, she has a Masters in Medical Ethics and Law, is a NUCO trainer and has a keen interest in the development of the school nurse role.
